"Driving through the hilly Italian countryside, we got closer and closer to our final destination of the day: Villa Verdicchio. The view became more beautiful by the minute. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts with an ice-cold glass of Verdicchio. We admired the cosy refurbished house and the atmospheric cantina right next door. Everywhere you look it is beautiful: cosy spots in the large garden, the view from all sides of the hills that never ends, the peace and quiet with only birds singing and the wonderfully furnished suite with large terrace. We are extremely impressed by what Lena and Roberto have made of this place! Our suite was fully equipped and spotlessly clean, the bed was lovely and spacious and there was even a living room made with a fridge for a cold drink and of course the private terrace overlooking the vineyards. After a fine first night, we awoke to the first light of day and cheerful singing of all the birds. Looking out into the courtyard, the homemade breakfast was already waiting for us. Every day a fresh juice, coffee or tea, fresh local produce (cheese and meat), an egg and homemade jam from the garden. Breakfast also included a different 'dolci' every day, home-made by the hostess. To savour! In the area, we enjoyed both tranquillity and local cultural excursions, but also visited an enotica and all kinds of nice villages/towns nearby or on the coast. A nice balance of going out and lazing around, because really you don't have to go anywhere when you stay at Villa Verdicchio. In a word: grande!
