From €995 per person, based on two people sharing a room

For groups of friends & families

Taste Le Marche – and meet the people behind it

Le Marche is a region of winemakers, farmers, truffle hunters and families who have often passed down their knowledge for generations.

That is why this small-scale gastronomic journey is not only about what ends up on your plate or in your glass.

We take you to meet the people behind the flavours.

You will meet winemakers in their own vineyards, head into the woods with a truffle hunter and his dog, help with our own olive harvest and see how the new season’s olive oil is made during the busiest time of year.

In between, there is time for memorable lunches and dinners, the beautiful landscapes of Le Marche and, above all, simply slowing down and enjoying being here.

Stay at Villa Verdicchio

You will stay for five nights in one of our four rooms or suites at Villa Verdicchio, surrounded by the vineyards and olive groves of Cupramontana.

Every morning starts with breakfast.

Your stay also includes 3 hours of private use of our wellness area per booking. You can choose the moment during your stay, making it easy to combine with the free time in the programme.

The programme

Day 1: Arrival in Le Marche

You arrive at Villa Verdicchio in the afternoon, in the rolling hills of Le Marche.

After your journey, we welcome you with a glass of Verdicchio and a warm Italian welcome.

The rest of the day is all about arriving, settling in and slowing down. Take some time to discover the villa and enjoy the peace of the Italian countryside.

In the evening, we sit down together for a simple homemade pasta dinner with delicious Verdicchio wines.

No rush – just good food, good company and a first taste of the days ahead.

Day 2: Meet the winemaker

After breakfast, we visit Cantina Sparapani, in the heart of the Verdicchio wine region.

Here we meet winemaker Pino, the man behind the wines. He shares his approach to his vineyards and his vision for Verdicchio, after which we taste a selection of the wines.

Lunch follows at the winery, naturally accompanied by Sparapani wines.

After lunch, we visit the remarkable Eremo dei Frati Bianchi.

During a guided tour, we discover not only the history of this centuries-old monastery, but also the story of how this special place was restored and brought back to life.

We then return to Villa Verdicchio.

The evening is free.

Day 3: Meet the truffle hunter and his dog

Today we head into the woods with truffle hunter Luca and his dog Paco.

During the demonstration, you will see how Paco searches for truffles and discover just how much training, knowledge and teamwork are involved in truffle hunting.

Afterwards, we enjoy a truffle lunch together.

The afternoon is free – perhaps to visit nearby Urbino or simply relax at Villa Verdicchio.

A gastronomic evening at Dietro le Quinte

In the evening, a taxi takes us to Restaurant Dietro le Quinte in Jesi. There we enjoy a specially created gastronomic menu with matching wines. After dinner, the taxi brings us back to Villa Verdicchio, so nobody has to worry about driving.

Day 4: Frasassi & a gastronomic lunch

After breakfast, we set off for the spectacular Frasassi Caves.

After the visit, we continue to Ristorante La Scaletta for a gastronomic lunch with matching wines.

We then return to Villa Verdicchio.

The rest of the afternoon and evening are free.

Day 5: From olives to wine

We start the morning at Villa Verdicchio itself.

During a short introduction to olive harvesting, you help pick some of our own olives and discover how the timing of the harvest and the quality of the fruit influence the final olive oil.

We then visit a local frantoio, right in the middle of its busiest time of year.

This is not a staged tourist tour, but a genuine glimpse behind the scenes while the new harvest is actually being processed.

We watch the olives arrive, meet the producer and, of course, taste the freshly pressed olio nuovo.

Meet Filippo from Colle Jano

Later in the day, we visit Colle Jano.

Here we meet winemaker Filippo, and his personal approach to winemaking and his vineyards.

Among other things, he tells us the story of an old vineyard, around forty years old, that he brought back to life.

We walk through the vineyard, hear his story and then taste his wines.

Dinner with our Italian mamma

For the final evening, we stay at Villa Verdicchio.

Our Italian mamma comes to cook for us, preparing a traditional Marchigiano menu just as it might be served in a local home.

We select matching wines from Le Marche.

A warm and personal ending to a stay full of flavours, stories and encounters.

Day 6: Breakfast & departure

After an extensive breakfast, it is time to say goodbye.

You leave with memories not only of beautiful wines and delicious food, but hopefully above all of the people you met along the way.

Who is this trip for?

Designed for private groups of friends and families who want to experience Le Marche together.

For wine lovers who want to do more than simply taste Verdicchio and would also like to meet the people behind the wine.

And for those who want to discover Le Marche in a personal, small-scale way, with plenty of time in between to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
