How to get there and away
Car
Villa Verdicchio in Cupramontana can be reached by car from the Autostrada Adriatico (which runs from north to south Italy).
Near Ancona, take the Strada Statale 76 (SS76) from Ancona towards Rome.
There you take exit 15 Cupramontana – monte Roberto from where a beautiful panoramic route takes you along the SP9, five hundred and five metres uphill to the heart of the Castelli di Jesi.
Once in Cupramontana, stay on the SP9, but the road turns left down the hill back to Via SAN Bartolomeo. Follow the road for a few hundred metres until you can turn right into Via (or contrada) Ripa. Vinoturismo Villa Verdicchio is a little further on the left.
There are several car rental companies at Ancona airport:
Sicily by car, Autonoleggio Magellano, Autovia, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Leasys.
You can check out the options on Skyscanner’s site: https://www.skyscanner.nl/
Airplane
The nearest airport is Ancona Falconara where you can fly with Ryan air from Brussels Charleroi and Düsseldorf Weeze, among others. This airport is a 25-minute drive from Cupramontana.
An alternative is to fly to Perugia in Umbria.
You can also fly to Rome or Bologna and combine a city trip with a lovely holiday in Le Marche.
Train
Take an international train to, say, Rome, Florence or Bologna in Italy. From there, you can take local trains to cities in Le Marche, such as Ancona, Pesaro or Ascoli Piceno. Travelling by train is very relaxing compared to the car but you will need a bit more time.
